There sixth generation Of iPad Air it should arrive in October and this year will be the only “refresh” for the iPads.
This is the indiscretion circulating on the Chinese website Weibo, a hybrid between Twitter and Facebook, one of the most popular social networks in China.
“Only the iPad Air series should be updated this year,” reads the post on the Chinese social network, followed by a subsequent clarification: the updated version of the iPad in question will arrive in October and no updated versions of the iPad will be presented this year mini and Pro.
The US site Macrumors points out that the indiscretion comes from an account that has proven reliable in the past.
Bloomberg’s always well-informed Mark Gurman also recently reported the possible arrival “soon” of a new iPad Air with improved specs. The Bloomberg editor also predicts a further Apple product for October, explaining that there will not be a dedicated event but the announcement could come with a simple press release.
The latest iPad Air was unveiled in March 2022 (here is our review); the version currently on sale boasts M1 chip, 12MP wide-angle camera, 12MP ultra-wide-angle front camera, Center Stage support, USB-C port, 5G support in “cellular” models, new color options. The updated version of the iPad could be offered with M2 chip, a Thunderbolt port like the iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil and new colors.
