EarthView – PC WORLD

Users who are unhappy with the default static desktop background and want a more customized desktop can take a look at EarthView. Earthview dynamically creates a desktop wallpaper and screensaver with a view of the Earth. After installation, you can choose a preferred viewpoint: a static one, the view from the sun, a random camera position, or a user-defined camera path. Alternatively, additional maps can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website.

The projection type can be changed from map to globe, while the update interval can be adjusted as desired. Another feature of EarthView is that you can change the parameters for each supported view, such as day or night views, clouds, background or cities. EarthView makes it easy to keep one or more locations always visible on the wallpaper, along with the current date and time for each location. Information such as the font type, color and size can be adjusted. EarthView can also be used as a default screen saver. The update frequency and after which idle time the screen saver should be activated can be specified.

EarthView can be tested free of charge for a few days. Then 25 dollars are currently due. In order to have a realistic daily representation of the clouds, an additional monthly fee must be paid. But this is even more impressive with current images of our earth and also shows the weather in different places on earth. Large cities and special buildings can be identified and viewed in more detail using the tool.
