The list of Chinese manufacturers that land in Europe to sell their electric cars does not stop growing. The last one to arrive is skywella firm from the Skyworth Auto group that debuts in Spain with a mid-size SUV that has in its sights the Tesla Model Yin addition to other Chinese electric cars, such as the BYD Seal U.
The first Skywell that can be purchased in Spain is the Skywell BE11 and it arrives twice, with a standard autonomy version that can travel 400 kilometers on a charge and the BE11 Long Range variant with a range of 477 kilometers.
The Skywell BE11 arrives with two levels of autonomy and two finishes
The Skywell BE11 measures 4.70 meters long and the Skywell BE11 Long Range reaches 4.72 meters in length because the design of the front bumper changes. Both versions are only a few centimeters shorter than the Tesla Model Y (4.75 meters long), so we are looking at a medium-sized SUV that has five seats and a trunk with 457 liters of capacity (1,141 liters with the rear seats folded down).
In the two variants with which it is available in Spain, the Skywell BE11 uses an electric motor that develops 204 HP and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. What changes from one version to another is the battery; The Skywell BE11 is equipped with a 72 kWh battery that can travel up to 400 kilometers on a charge, while the BE 11 Long Range incorporates an 86 kWh battery that offers 477 kilometers of autonomy.
Both the Skywell BE11 and BE11 Long Range are on sale with two finishes: Comfort and Luxury. In both cases, the standard equipment is very complete and is exactly the same in the standard autonomy model and in the extended autonomy model.
From the basic finish, the BE11 is equipped with level 2.5 autonomous driving, rear camera, automatic parking system, panoramic sliding roof, heated and ventilated seats, electric tailgate, digital panel with 12.3″ screen, central touch screen 12.8”, leather upholstery or matrix LED headlights. The Skywell BE11 Luxury adds the 360-degree camera, ambient light, tinted windows or matrix laser headlights.
The starting price of this SUV is 33,900 euros for the BE11 Comfort version. This rate includes brand discounts and aid from the MOVES III Plan. Above the BE11 Comfort is the BE11 Luxury, which starts at 36,900 euros. The Skywell BE11 Long Range Comfort is on sale from 37,900 euros and the Skywell BE11 Long Range Luxury starts at 40,900 euros.
In the same segment we find the electric BYD Seal U, which measures 4.78 meters long, has 218 HP, a range of 420 km and a starting price of 42,290 euros (not counting the aid from the Moves III Plan) with the basic Comfort finish. For its part, the Tesla Model Y is available from 44,490 euros (without the Moves III Plan) with 299 HP and 455 km of autonomy.
