Can we expect to see new low-cost MacBooks hitting the laptop market? The answer is yes if we rely on the article just published DigiTimes which relies on sources from Taiwan.
As always, experts are counting on information linked to the Cupertino company’s supply chain which claims that the tech giant will launch a new range by the second half of 2024.
Apple wants to counter Google
To achieve a competitive price, the Apple brand will use different materials, while the internal components will also be cheaper. However, the design of the computer will remain close to the MacBook Air and Pro with a metal casing.
Very clearly, Apple would be eyeing the education market with this new range where Chromebooks sold by Google overshadow it. The Cupertino company is indeed struggling to seduce schools, even with its Macbook Air and its iPads. Opposite, Google’s low-cost computer displays insolent health with tens of millions of sales, and we understand better therefore the idea of Apple.
The reliability of this information remains to be seen. Of course, the Tech giant has made no comment on this subject, and we will have to wait for a keynote (probably next year) for a possible formalization.
Apple Insider also remember that if DigiTimes often illustrates itself positively thanks to its sources within the supply chain, it has a little more difficulty with regard to the conclusions which it draws from it on the real plans of Apple.
If a new range of MacBook less expensive were to emerge, would you be interested? Do not hesitate to give us your point of view in the comments.
