“The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” is a Netflix-Adventure film by star director Wes Anderson and is about a rich man named Henry Sugar who wants to cheat at gambling using special skills. The trailer shows Sugar learning about a man who can see without his eyes. He wants to use this trick to make a lot of money.
The 39-minute short film is based on the book of short stories of the same name by the British writer Roald Dahl (in German: “I see something that you don’t see”). Netflix has the adaptation rights to all of the author’s stories already secured in September 2021who is best known for his classic children’s books such as “Matilda”.
“Marvel“-Star Benedict Cumberbatch plays the lead role of Henry Sugar in the new Dahl adaptation. A large star cast can be seen alongside him: Ralph Fiennes (“Harry Potter“) and Dev Patel (“Modern Love“) to Ben Kingsley (“Daliland“) and Richard Ayoade (“The IT Crowd“).
Anyone who has already heard of other Wes Anderson films such as “Grand Budapest Hotel” or “Asteroid City“, you should also definitely watch “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar”. The charming short film will be released on September 27th Streaming service Netflix.
